As the saying goes, “To love a person is to love even the crow upon their roof” — an expression of love carried to its absolute extreme. Yet, should circumstances shift and feelings veer, love may turn into dislike, and dislike grows into hatred. where then has that former love gone? The transformation from hatred to love follows the same pattern. Therefore, don’t be overjoyed when someone loves you, and don’t be sorrowful when someone hates you. For like the phantoms in a dream or blossoms in the void, they possess no true substance.
