True Realization

Master Dahui Zonggao said, “There is nothing so special for a Chan practitioner to talk about koans such as ‘dry shit stick’, ‘sawing the sliding weight of steelyard’, ‘three pounds of hemp’, or ‘a dog’s Buddha nature’. It is not enough to merely do the talking; you’ve got to have true realization. And once you are truly realized, if your teacher deliberately denies it, he will bear the karma.”

Chan practitioners must remember this and stop paying lip service to Samadhi. Only true realization counts.
