To learn through listening is not as wholesome as through reading. But reading with the eyes is not as boundless as realizing through the mind. The best practice is let the mind serve as a king, the eyes serve as ministers, and the ears as assistants. The lesser practice is to let the eyes take up the role of king, and the least practice is to let the ears do the job of the eyes.
