Styles and Methods

“The main objective of practicing dharma is to tame our minds — to bring peace and joy to our minds. But there has to be a wide variety in methods for traversing the path, since there are all kinds of sentient beings who have different interests and dispositions. However, there are traditions within Buddhism that carry great blessings, traditions that have been practiced by highly accomplished spiritual beings. That’s why we respect the teaching styles and methods of great masters. They don’t have to be regarded as concrete rules, but they do carry sacred and supreme blessing power.”
